I'm in the process of acquiring this advertisement:

Apparently it was displayed inside some VHS movies in the early 80s
(1982?). Here's a translation:

GAME- AND LEARNING COMPUTER OF THE FUTURE. NOW IN FINLAND!

VECTREX is the most interesting game- and learning computer on the
market in all time. Hundreds of thousands of people have already
gotten to know VECTREX all over the world!

The ways you can use VECTREX are amazing. It's games require
intelligence and concentration. VECTREX teaches you to compose and
read notes. With it you can upgrade your math, geometry, astronomy and
geology skills. VECTREX teaches you how to do animated movies.

Over ten game cartridges are already available and a VECTREX light pen
and three dimensional viewing glasses. And soon you can get your
VECTREX a keyboard, which makes it an advanced home computer. With 64
K RAM and 64 K ROM memory. TV is useless. VECTREX has it's own screen.

Interesting that it's mentioned in an advert now. There was a keyboard
add-on being developed (might be a pic around on the net) along with a
music add-on and voice recog unit according to one of MB's old dev
team members. None made it out the door of course.

There's a pic on the net, many places. Called the computer module.

Forgot to translate the bottom slogan:

I think that pic is someones idea of a joke or a funny mockup. It's a
Vec sitting on top of a Tandy Coco (or it's retail cousin the TDP
100). The irony is that they are both 6809 based.

Those test results are funky as well. The Coco uses a 6809e
(externally clocked to 2x the Vectrex's 68A09 speed). I find it hard
to believe that the Computer Module would kick it's ass in that way.
Either it had some serious horsepower under there to be up in the
Intel 808x league at the time (possibly a M68000) or it was running
the 6809 in parallel with something else (possibly another 6809). The
first option would have made it hideously expensive -- might as well
have bought an IBM PC.The second option still would not have been able
to beat a Coco IMO.

Might be, but at least someone stuck a Vectrex sticker on it... Maybe
they used a converted Tandy as a prototype somehow...

That pic is no joke. It's a magazine picture from 1983, and it's
corroborated by the French article and at least one other source.
According to production manager Michael Cartabiano, the keyboard was a
generic off-the-shelf computer case (similar in appearance to a
Tandy). According to him, in it's latest stage, it really couldn't be
fairly benchmarked next to other computers, as it was only doing
simple math, and accepting input from the keyboard. With no graphics
or other intermediate/advanced capabilities, it probably ran faster
that it otherwise would have...
